Obituary of Charles A. LaCombe
December 24, 1946 – December 5, 2024
Charles A. Lacombe. Age 77 of Carleton.
Charles “Chuck” was the eldest of 10 children born to Harold and Mary LaCombe. He graduated from St. Patrick High School in Wyandotte, MI.
Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Patterson on May 8, 1970. They share 3 sons - Matthew, Martin and Thomas. He was also a devoted grandfather of 9 - Maxwell, Zachary, Evan, Allyssa, Kaden, Sarah, Lilliana, Audrey and Kyle.
Chuck worked for Ford Motor Company for over 40 years as a Tool and Die Maker. He eventually became a Skilled Trades Superintendent in the Dearborn Frame Plant. He was a skilled mechanic and builder. He designed and built their dream home in Carleton, MI.
Chuck was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary during the 1970s and 1980s. Among his many interests and hobbies, he trained and became a private Pilot and was an avid camper, camping throughout the United States. He was also an avid deer, waterfowl and turkey hunter and a proud member of the Carleton Sportsman's Club where he was also an avid clays shooter. During his life, Chuck was involved in the NRA, Carleton Sportsman’s Club, Men's Club at St. Pius Church in Southgate, St. Patrick's Church in Carleton, he was a Cub Scout Pack Master at St. Pius in Southgate and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Chuck was the one to always be there to help family and friends whenever they were in need. He was a devoted husband to Patricia, his wife of 54 years.
Chuck would like to be remembered as a man who was devoted to his wife and family, an avid outdoorsman and a proud American.
